Virginia Keeler-Wolf, MA, MFT (MFC # 32311)

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, a certified EMDR practitioner, and an attachment and adoption specialist with extensive training and experience. I specialize in working with families and individuals to strengthen attachments, to integrate and recover from trauma and neglect, to develop effective emotional regulation and to create healthier and more satisfying family relationships.

In my practice I provide compassionate counseling to to families of all kinds, as well as to children, teens, adults and couples. Many of the families I see are struggling to effectively parent children with issues related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, adoption, attachment, trauma, developmental and learning differences. I provide training and consultation to schools, agencies and professionals on a wide variety of adoption, attachment and parenting topics.

My work is informed by my personal experience as an adopted person. I have been working with all kinds of families including foster and adoptive families and individuals, as well as couples struggling with infertility for over 28 years. In my work with families, I use a variety of modalities including dyadic developmental therapy, family narrative therapy, individual therapy and EMDR to create an individualized treatment plan for each client.

I developed the Family Attachment and Adoption Center Eastbay to provide a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of families. We offer a series of effective and innovative group therapy programs to serve both children and adults.

I received my degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University and have received extensive postgraduate training in family therapy, attachment therapy from Daniel Hughes, in EMDR and in treatment of childhood trauma.

Virginia was the former director of PACER, Post Adoption Center for Education and Research, and is an active member of ATTACH, RESOLVE and the American Adoption Congress.
